Dance Festival 2009
This afternoon 6 teams of very excited dancers (38 in total) traveled to Hastings Intermediate for the HB Dance Festival. The teams have been working hard in their own time since halfway through term 1 and it was great to see the effort paying off. All teams performed really well with a lot of enthusiasm, and should be proud of their hard work.
And the best news? Taradale 4 team placed 3rd equal overall, with the Thriller (Taradale 6) team taing out the top prize of 1st place!
Taradale 4 - 3rd equal.
Taradale 6, Thriller - 1st place!

Congratulations to the four students who have been selected to go through to the next round of auditions on Saturday. This time they sing again with a backing track and the judges are looking for more than just singing ability - they want the X factor!
Good luck to Bailley, Dania, Rhiann and Grace. Keep practicing girls!

Superstar 2009
Superstar is a Primary and Intermediate age singing competition that is run like Idol - each school enters some talented students into the first round of auditions where they have to sing un-accompanied (without any backing music!). Those who are good enough are chosen to attend 'Hollywood Week' (held on a Saturday) where they attend workshops. From here, a top 20 are chosen who then compete in a live final. The winner is chosen by audience vote. This year, T.I.S. has sent 8 students to the first round of auditions. We are currently waiting to hear if any of these awesome singers are through to the next round. Watch this space!
These students are: Bailley, Mikensie, Lauren, Rhiann, Issy, Sasha, Grace and Dania. Good luck girls!
